Phase 2 is the second half of the Venture. It starts on the morning of 7 January and runs for four days until the closing ceremony on the evening of 10 January 2010.
Phase 2 consists of a huge range of onsite and offsite activities, all of which are undertaken on an individual free choice basis. The basic idea is that you choose what you want to do, and when you want to do it. If you want to just hang and do nothing, you can do that too, but who wants to do all that with all the activities on offer?
The basic format during Phase 2 is:
In terms of the day activities there are four types that you can choose from:
All meals at Brookfield will be fully catered for all youth, leaders and staff. So no-one will not need to do any cooking when they are at Brookfield.
All meals will be served in the dining marquee which is in the paddock called the orchard (near the abseiling tower) – you can’t miss it; the marquee is huge and it’s full of tables and chairs!
Meal times are as follows:
The dining marquee can seat approximately 400 at a time. So the meal times will be a rolling event, meaning that people can eat at any time during the 90 minute time slot for the meal but as soon as you have finished you are asked to leave so that there is space for others to have their meal.
Cutlery and plates will be supplied for all meals at the marquee.
The onsite activities are all at Brookfield. These will mostly be run on a "walk-up, queue if you have to and then do it" basis (although a few will have to be booked).
These will all be heaps of fun and completely free (except for Paint Ball that costs $10 for 100 balls).

There will be three types of offsite activities:
Each evening during Phase 2 there will be a social event. Some evenings there will also be a dress up theme to go with the evening’s entertainment.
The evening activities will be held in the "party marquee" which is situated in the main field by the Rover Café. You can’t miss it – it is huge.
The themes and activities for each night are as follows:
| Night | Dress Up Theme | Social Event |
| 7 January | Carnival Gear | Carnivale |
| 8 January | American Gangster Attire | Casino Night |
| 9 January | Region vs Region | |
| 10 January | Closing Ceremony and Farewell Party |
Costumes for the dress up theme are not compulsory, but do add to the fun and are recommended.
The evening activities will finish at midnight each night at which point everyone is expected to head back to their Unit campsites. Out of respect for Brookfield neighbours we need to do this as quietly as possible.
The Rover Café is a Venture institution and will operate at Venture Wellington courtesy of the Lower North Island Regional Rover Council. It will be situated in the hall next to the party marquee and is a place to socialise, have some quiet time, read a paper, play some board games, etc.
Everyone at Venture will also be able to purchase food, drink and some basic personal supplies at the Cafe. Venture Money will need to be used for this purpose as no real money will be handled in the Rover Café. Venture Money can be purchased at the Venture Office using cash or preferably EFTPOS.
Departure day is Monday 11 January 2010 and everyone should plan to leave Brookfield by lunch time that day. The last meal provided will be breakfast that morning.
