Ordering Food from Back Country

18/11/2009 - 9:50am

For those Units that have managed to secure a deal for food from Back Country, in order to confirm your order you need to follow these steps.

1) Get Back Country to write you a quote for the amount you require. Remember that you have only $50 per person for the duration of the expedition phase.

2) Get Back Country to send that quote the SCOUTS New Zealand, Level 4, 57 Willis Street, Wellington. Make sure that the quote has your unit number on it.

3) We will then issue a purchase order and they can invoice us the appropriate amount.

This should not apply to many of you, but for those doing the Queen Charlotte Track and Southern Crossing I know it will help.

Clarification on phase two bookings

28/10/2009 - 2:49pm

Currently there appears to be some confusion over the booking system for phase two activities. To clear it up this is the definitive answer...

VENTURERS:

Once you are logged in, go to post registration and then phase two registration. On this page you should be given a number of options as to what activity and what day you want to book. Please remember however this is an indication to us only. Your place on this activity will be confirmed ONLY at Venture itself depending on two things.

  1. You confirming by paying for it on the 6th of January.
  2. There are places available on the day you chose.

If there are no places available to you for the day you have chosen, you will at Venture be able to choose a new day, provided again there is space available and you pay for it.

LEADERS:

Although it is also open to leaders to book activities during phase two under post registration, please DO NOT do so. Leaders who want to go on an offsite activity should sign up at the main office the day before. Places are very limited, so leaders should do this at the beginning of each day to get themselves on an offsite activity. If there are spaces still available, a reminder will be made at the daily UL meetings.

Paint anyone?

23/10/2009 - 9:40pm

Over the weekend the paint for the fluro party arrived at Brookfield. Some poor member of the Programme Team (you know who you are...) had to lug it all upstairs to store it away. And we are pleased to say that it is both bright and colourful. There is also a lot of it so make sure you get yourself one of those boiler suits and remember to party all night long. The Programme Team would also like to thank Floyd from Illuminate who got us all the paint and great rates and will also be there for the event to help us run the show. Good on you Floyd.

Challenge valley proving challenging

14/10/2009 - 6:33pm

The programme team would like to send a massive shoutout to Victoria Rover Crew in Wellington. For the last couple of weeks they have been working at weekends out at the Venture site on installing a number of new obstacles on Challenge Valley, and doing a general tidy up. The obstacles look truly challenging and they have all done a rocking job to provide you guys with the most challenging confidence course/challenge valley that they can muster. Along with a new commando crawl through some muddy trench, they have added a new wall, ramp, up and overs, tyre climbs and stepping stones.

Kudos to them.
